About GymBot

GymBot is an AI-powered fitness coaching app that uses your phone camera to track body movement during squats, deadlifts, and shoulder presses. All pose detection runs on-device. No video footage is stored or transmitted.

Data We Collect

To provide real-time coaching and session history, GymBot collects:

• Profile data — username, gender, and height. Stored locally on your device.
• Workout metrics — rep counts, bar velocity, knee angles, range of motion, bar path coordinates, and exercise type. Stored locally and on our secure backend for session persistence and AI coaching feedback.
• Voice recordings — when you use the AI Coach Q&A feature, audio is sent to our backend for transcription and response generation.
• Weight preferences — kg or lbs setting. Stored locally.

What We Do Not Collect

• Video footage or camera images
• Location data
• Contacts or device identifiers
• Browsing history or app usage analytics

How We Use Your Data

• To provide real-time form coaching and rep counting
• To generate your GymBot Score and session analytics
• To respond to voice and text questions via the AI Coach
• To save and display your workout history
• To enable stats-sharing with custom overlays

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Camera & Microphone

Camera access is required for on-device pose detection. The camera feed is processed locally by Google ML Kit and never stored or sent off-device.

Microphone access is only used when you initiate the AI Coach voice Q&A feature. Voice recordings are transmitted to our backend, processed, and not retained after the response is generated.

Third-Party Services

• Google ML Kit — on-device body landmark detection. No data is shared with Google.
• GymBot Backend — Receives workout metrics and voice audio for session persistence and AI coaching responses. Voice recordings are processed and deleted after use. No data is sold or used for training.

Data Retention and Deletion

Workout data and session history are stored on our servers to provide your coaching history and analytics across sessions. This data is retained for as long as your account or session remains active.

Voice recordings are processed in real time for AI coaching and are not retained after the response is generated.

You may request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us at support@gymbot.fit. Upon receiving your request, we will delete all your session data, workout history, and any associated account information within 30 days. You can also clear your local session history directly from the app by using the “Clear History” option in the session history view.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
